All About Me!
Welcome to the "Can Do" Classroom!
I am so excited to start out another year here at Irwin Academic Center.
My name is Brandy Carol Daniels and I will be your child’s first grade teacher. This year, I would hope that we will be able to work towards a successful year together.
I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I love teaching and football. I am a Packer and Panther fan. I am the youngest of 5 children. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. I received my Masters degree from National Lewis University in Illinois. In 2008 I was nominated Teacher of the Year". I'm in "Who's Who's of Teachers.
I have 30 years of teaching experience. I have 14 years experience teaching Kindergarten in Shorewood Wisconsin. My teaching experience in Charlotte started in 2002. I have 9 years of experience teaching first grade at Villa Heights and 7 years of experience teaching kindergarten at Irwin.
I love living in North Carolina. My husband Reuben is a native of North Carolina. I met him in Wisconsin. We have 2 children. Our son Ryan lives in Chicago. Our daughter Brittany lives in New Jersey. My hobbies are always changing. I’ve painted bird houses, decorated T-shirts, scrap booking, card making and SHOPPING. I’m currently teaching myself how to play a guitar.
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and look forward to sharing that with your children. I strive to have a classroom with a safe environment, a place for students to flourish and grow academically as well as socially.
This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. I believe that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to call (704 258-2057) or email ([email protected]), me anytime you have concerns. I am available for conferences most mornings starting at 7:30 a.m. First grade is a busy year and I usually look at my email at 5:30a.m. My favorite and most effective form of communication is a hand written or typed note. Please use this method with changes to your child’s schedule.
I look forward to an exciting year!
